All Hellenic Navy’s warships and naval services deliver periodically in N.H.D Archives section in accordance with applicable regulations, their current archival material which includes outgoing signal – Documents, Logbooks, Incoming documents outside HN etc.
All the received material is collected, recorded, classified and after at least twenty (20) years, gradually delivered to the Microfilm Section. Subsequently, through a three-member committee under the guidance of the Director of the N.H.D, the above material is being characterized as “Destructive” or “Preserved- History file”.
During the all procedure the archival material is being stored according to the type in specific and secured place in order to preserve both conservation and easy retrieval in case of further future utilization.
