Having a wide range of activities and research related to Hellenic Navy’s history, Naval History Department collaborates with various organizations that posses history archives which are considered as exploitable.
More particular in recent years N.H.D Archives Section works closely with the Municipality of Athens (Archives Section) retrieving valuable information from the early 19th century through the daily printed press of the time.
N.H.D also obtains information related to the action of the Hellenic Navy by various organizations with rich archival material as the General State Archives, Banks (National Bank, Piraeus Bank, etc.) and other private or public organizations.
Additionally, N.H.D using the structure and records of other History services of Armed Forces (Army, Air Force) exchanges information and crosses historical events by comparing data from different sources exploiting the transversal doctrine even in the field of Military History.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that N.H.D is member of the G.C.M.H (Greek Commission of Military History) having become full member of the committee whose membership includes Universities, Education Institutes etc.
